Oh, hey. It’s summer. It’s also been FAR too long since I posted anything. Thanks for the kick in the right direction, Em.
But yeah, it’s summer, and I seem to have been living out the days in a daze, which is entirely unacceptable. Carpe diem, right? YOLO and all that? It’s just tough to get motivated to get up and get something done. I had an excuse for a little while, having been reduced to an irritable vegetable by the aftereffects of dental surgery (frikkin’ wisdom teeth), but no more. Now I’m just being lazy.
I could try to justify my sloth-like behavior by saying that my job is wearing me out. I am in fact working and yes, working at a fast food franchise is usually draining. I have issues with the whole “be a duck” mentality of not letting people get to me. I’d like for it to work, I’d probably feel a lot healthier most of the time, but letting stuff just roll off my back doesn’t compute for me. Fortunately, for every unpleasant person I must work with, the are two or three really cool ones. Seriously, it helps a lot.
Just as seriously, I really do need to get myself back in a routine of, “Let’s get crap DONE.” Before I know it, July will roll in and I’ll be back to the realm of the academic, while simultaneously exploring the world of throwing burgers at a pressure grill. Unless I can manage to pull a 180 on my habits, life is going to be stressful and unpleasant, despite being involved in what promises to be the coolest class in the history of core-requirements-nobody-really-wants-to-take.
I get to study zombies. My homework will include watching Zombieland and The Walking [motherloving] Dead. I am loath to admit this as a writer, but I honestly can’t find any words that can sufficiently illustrate how freaking jazzed I am about this class.
Yeah, that one’s in there too.
It’s summertime. I’ve got some work to do. Let’s hope I can stay on task enough to do it.
First of all, LOVE the title! You have a knack with words, sir!
Second of all, what you wrote about people you work with is true. There was a girl who used to make me miserable, but she quit! Hurrah!
You DO have a lot of work to do! Write more. : ) I’ll always be nagging you, don’t worry! (It’s a compliment, really.)
Time is my enemy now.
